Technology has the potential to transform lives especially the lives of African women and when taken full advantage of can change the narrative for gender equality and equal opportunities for women in Africa. Regardless, the space is still dominated by men as many believe that coding is a prerequisite for having a career in Tech.
Below are 7 Career Opportunities in Technology for Women who do not code or have any interest in learning how to:
Project management: Women can work as project managers in technology companies. Project managers are responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and tracking of technology projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

User experience (UX) design: Women can work in UX design, which involves creating user-friendly and intuitive interfaces for websites and mobile apps. UX designers work closely with developers and other stakeholders to ensure that the technology products meet the needs of the users.

Technical writing: Women can work as technical writers, creating documentation and user manuals for technology products. Technical writers need to have strong writing skills and an understanding of the technology they are writing about.

Sales and marketing: Women can work in sales and marketing roles for technology companies. These roles involve promoting and selling technology products to potential customers.

Data analysis: Women can work as data analysts, analysing large sets of data to identify trends and insights that can inform business decisions. Data analysts need to be comfortable with statistics and data visualization tools.

Cybersecurity: Women can work in cybersecurity, helping to protect technology systems and data from unauthorized access and cyberattacks. This field requires knowledge of computer networks and security protocols.

Technical support: Women can work in technical support roles, helping users troubleshoot technology problems and providing customer service. Technical support roles require strong communication skills and a good understanding of technology products.
Overall, there are many opportunities for women in technology beyond coding. Women can use their skills and interests to find a role that suits them and contributes to the success of technology companies.
