Introduction

WomanRising 5000 is a women's economic impact project by TANOE that seeks to support 5000 women-owned and women-operated businesses by equipping them with technical & access to financial support to enhance the creditworthiness of these businesses, facilitate job creation, and ensure long-term continuous growth and sustainability.

The project aims to empower women entrepreneurs by providing them with the necessary tools and resources to succeed in their businesses, expand their operations, increase their employees and build systems and structures to ensure continuous and sustained growth.

Through this initiative, women entrepreneurs are offered a range of resources including access to finance, training programs, mentorship opportunities, and networking events.

By providing these resources, TANOE aims to ensure that women-owned and women-operated businesses are equipped to overcome the unique challenges they face in the business world.

Focus Areas & Key Objectives

1. Credit Worthiness: One of the primary objectives of the WomanRising 5000 project is to help women entrepreneurs enhance their creditworthiness. This is achieved by providing them with access to finance and financial management training programs. By improving their creditworthiness, women entrepreneurs are able to access more capital, which can be used to expand their businesses and create new job opportunities.

2. Job Creation: Another important aspect of the WomanRising 5000 project is its focus on job creation. The project seeks to create new job opportunities by supporting the growth and expansion of women-owned and women-operated businesses. By providing technical assistance and financial support, the project aims to help these businesses increase their operations, which in turn will create new job opportunities. By creating jobs, the project aims to help women entrepreneurs become financially independent and contribute to the economic development of their communities.

3. Continuous Growth & Business Sustainability: Lastly, the WomanRising 5000 project aims to ensure the continuous growth and sustainability of women-owned and women-operated businesses. This is achieved by providing women entrepreneurs with the necessary resources and tools to build robust systems and structures. By establishing effective systems and structures, businesses are better equipped to navigate the challenges of the business world and achieve long-term success.

WomanRising 5000 Project Goals

The primary objectives of WomanRising 5000 is to empower women entrepreneurs
by providing them with continuous technical & access to financial support
to enhance their creditworthiness, enable them to create jobs, and ensure continuous growth
and sustainability of their businesses. The Goals of this project are:

To create at least 10,000 jobs through the growth and expansion of the businesses.

To provide continuous technical support and training to 5000 women-owned and women-operated businesses.

To develop a comprehensive database of 5000 verified women entrepreneurs, women-owned and women-operated businesses.

To onboard the WMSMEs on the DBG and MAS (Monetary Authority of Singapore) digital platform under the Ghana Financial Integrated Ecosystem (GFIE) platform.

To conduct State of Business & Needs Assessment for all 5000 WMSMEs to help us understand the needs of WMSEs and the interventions they require and also to be able to get data and analytics on them.

To improve the creditworthiness of the businesses through financial literacy training, access to credit support, effective financial management & accounting support.

To ensure the continuous growth and sustainability of the businesses through ongoing technical support to enhance their operational efficiency, systems and structures, governance, leadership, sustainability & ESG.

Project Activities

State of Business & Needs Assessment:

The project will start with a comprehensive assessment of the needs of the 5000 women-owned and women-operated businesses. The assessment will identify the gaps in their businesses and the areas where technical support is needed.

Onboarding on GIFE:

The WMSMEs will be onboarded on the DBG and MAS (Monetary Authority of Singapore) digital platform under the Ghana Integrated Financial Ecosystem (GIFE) platform.

Technical Support:

Based on the needs assessment, the project will provide technical support to the businesses in areas such as financial management, marketing, and product development. This support will be provided through training sessions, workshops, and mentorship programs.

Financial Literacy Training:

The project will provide financial literacy training to the businesses to improve their creditworthiness. The training will cover topics such as budgeting, bookkeeping, and accessing credit.

Access to Credit:

The project will work with financial institutions to provide access to credit for the businesses. The project will provide assistance with loan applications and help the businesses build their credit profiles.

Job Creation:

The growth and expansion of the businesses will result in the creation of jobs. The project will track job creation as a key performance indicator.

Ongoing Support:

The project will provide ongoing support to the businesses to ensure their continuous growth and sustainability. This support will include access to mentors and business coaches.

Access to TANOE Business Back Office Support Program:

This is an initiative that provides access to professionals such as HR Executives, Accountants, Social Media & Digital Marketers, Graphic Designers, Lawyers, Website Designers and volunteers to provide various operational support to the WMSMEs on a subsidised retainer basis.

Access to TANOE Business Call Centre:

This is an initiative that provides access to a call center where WMSMEs can make inquiries for resources, contacts and marketing support and get feedback, referral and updates.

Access to WomanRising Online Market Place:

This is an ecommerce platform the markets and sells products of the subscribers of the WomanRising 5000 Program.
