WomanRising, a leading organization dedicated to empowering women in business, successfully hosted the inaugural edition of the WomanRising 5000 Business Growth Training on June 6, 2023. The event took place at the Kofi Annan ICT Center, bringing together 125 ambitious women entrepreneurs from diverse sectors and industries.
The training program aimed to equip women entrepreneurs with essential skills and knowledge to drive their businesses toward sustainable growth. Featuring an impressive lineup of industry experts as facilitators, the attendees received comprehensive training on vital topics such as Personal Branding, Business Development and Management, and Business Sustainability (ESG).
The event commenced at 9:00 a.m. with an inspiring Welcome Address delivered by the Special Guest, the Deputy CEO of Development Bank Ghana, Mr. Michael Mensah-Baah. His speech highlighted the significance of empowering women in entrepreneurship and expressed his support for their endeavors. The audience was captivated by his insights and vision for women’s economic empowerment.
Throughout the day, the training sessions were led by distinguished professionals in their respective fields. Emma Tandoh, Managing Partner of Outspoken Edge, shared her expertise in Personal Branding, enabling participants to harness their unique qualities and effectively position themselves in the marketplace. Richard Nunekpeku, Managing Partner of Sustineri Attorneys PRUC, delved into Business Development and Management, equipping attendees with strategies to scale their businesses and overcome challenges.
Furthermore, Ekow Mensah, CEO of TANOE, conducted an engaging training session on Business Sustainability (ESG), emphasizing the importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance factors in building successful and responsible enterprises. Participants gained valuable insights on integrating sustainability practices into their business models, fostering a positive impact on society and the environment.
The program fostered interactive discussions, allowing participants to share experiences, ask questions, and learn from one another. The engaging sessions provided a nurturing environment for collaboration and networking among the women entrepreneurs present.
The training agenda included well-timed breaks to ensure optimal engagement and networking opportunities. A coffee break was held at 11:40 a.m., allowing participants to refresh and exchange ideas. A delightful lunch was served at 2:00 p.m., providing a platform for further networking and informal discussions.
Adding an exciting element to the event, 20 women entrepreneurs showcased their products during the training. This exhibition provided an excellent platform for participants to explore new business opportunities, connect with potential partners, and gain visibility for their brands.
As the training sessions drew to a close at 5:30 p.m., the attendees left with newfound knowledge, invaluable connections, and a renewed sense of motivation to drive their businesses forward. The first edition of the WomanRising 5000 Business Growth Training marked a significant milestone in empowering women entrepreneurs in Ghana and setting them on a path toward success.
