This week, we celebrate the achievements of three inspiring women who embody the spirit of creativity, resilience, and purpose-driven business. Through their passions for art, beauty, and events management, these phenomenal women are transforming lives, fostering opportunities, and uplifting their communities.
CEO, The Art Village | Artist | Journalist | Humanitarian | Author
Edna Azumah Aninga is a multi-talented entrepreneur who masterfully blends artistry, journalism, and humanitarian service. As the CEO of The Art Village, she uses her business as a vehicle to promote creativity and serve humanity. After earning a degree in Communication Studies from the Ghana Institute of Journalism in 2016, Edna began her entrepreneurial journey with The Aninga Baskets, selling handwoven baskets made in Bolgatanga.
During her National Service in a rural school in the Upper East Region, she went beyond teaching, supporting students both academically and with basic needs. Choosing to stay in Bolgatanga, she deepened her love for art with inspiration from her father’s paintings and eventually launched her clothing line, AZU Collections, featuring unisex hand-painted apparel. In 2017, Edna was recognized with the World Remit and Miss Ghana UK Foundation award for Promising Young Female Entrepreneur. The following year, she was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the MOBEK Business Excellence Awards.
A published author, Edna has written numerous children’s books and maintains a vibrant online presence, sharing inspirational and humorous write-ups. Her creative talents have expanded into interior decor, where she designs spaces for homes, offices, and restaurants. Now a proud member of the Ghana Police Service, she is also pursuing a Master’s in Gender, Peace, and Security at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Centre, further cementing her role as a force for positive change.
When not painting or designing, Edna enjoys photographing nature, writing fiction and personal essays, and capturing life’s everyday beauty. Her Christian faith is a guiding light in all she does, serving as both inspiration and purpose.
CEO, Soul & Beauty by Faith
Ruth Brako is transforming skincare with Soul & Beauty by Faith, her natural skincare brand offering products infused with essential oils like Lavender, Lemongrass, and Rose, as well as the nourishing Cocoa Caress body butter. Ruth’s customers rave about the glow her products give them, with no harmful side effects.
Her passion for beauty is rooted in self-care, and she takes pride in exclusively using her own products, having never relied on foreign brands since launching her business. Ruth’s commitment to providing holistic, all-natural care from head to toe has earned her loyal customers and built a thriving business.
CEO, Exceptional Events Solutions & Biggles Impact Foundation
Abigail Dwomoh Nyarko, affectionately known as Unbreakable Ama Biggles, is a dynamic entrepreneur and leader. Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration at the Akenten-Appiah Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development, Abigail runs Exceptional Events Solutions, a Kumasi-based events management company. Her business provides employment to over 20 young men and women and delivers extraordinary experiences for weddings, birthdays, funerals, and corporate events.
Raised by a single mother and shaped by the challenges of humble beginnings, Abigail’s journey reflects unwavering strength. After completing vocational training at the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI), she spent 12 years navigating life on her own, gaining resilience through experience.
In addition to managing events, Abigail founded the Biggles Impact Foundation to support her community and create opportunities for the less fortunate. She also serves as the Administrative Secretary for DAL Micro-Credit Enterprise, ensuring smooth operations for the business. Grounded in her Adventist faith, Abigail embraces life with joy and positivity, striving to inspire others along the way.
