Today is the 4th of January and the 4th Day in 2023. Not sure what you have accomplished so far but these are my 3 suggestions on how to ensure that every day is productive in this new year.
Whether you have a business or an employee; these 3 things will guide you to get result and make the most of each day this year.
Number 1: Add value to yourself daily. You don’t know what you don’t know and what you don’t know may deprive you of what you desire or the result you seek. For whatever you know or do, ensure that you make it a point to add value to it daily.
Adding value can be in the form of what you read, what you listen to, who you interact with and the experiences and exposure you have.
My go to for value-add is Pastor Mensa Otabil every morning as he challenges me with timeless principles that guide my work, thinking and actions. What or who is yours?
Your mind is your greatest asset and when you don’t keep it growing and constantly challenged, it will not bring you any advancement or success.
Number 2: Maximize the use of your time. My believe is that time can not be managed. No one can manage something that is always moving and depleting. What you can do with it is either waste, use or invest time.
Time is your 2nd greatest asset and the more you find effective ways of using and investing it, the more productive and result driven you become.
Start with a daily routine. When you wake up, what you do when you wake up, how you spend your day, how you end your day, what you do before you sleep, when you sleep and when you repeat every step in your routine. The effectiveness of your routine will determine the effectiveness of your day, week, month, year and life in general.
Number 3: Build productive relationships. People are your 3rd greatest asset. Like it or not, you can not live and succeed in life without people. No matter who you are and what you do, you will need people each step of the way.
The better your strategy at building and maintaining valuable relationships is, the more likely you are going to have a successful business, career and life.
Relationships are value-add and the best ones are those that are win-win. Seek more to feed than to be fed. Seek to serve than to be served. Seek to listen than to be heard. Seek to find than to be found. Seek to add than to subtract. Seek to give than to receive.
But ensure that you don’t get your cup emptied by pouring out and never getting filled. That’s not a relationship; that a ‘servantship’. Avoid that. Go where you are needed and be where you feel at home.
Count your days and ensure each day is accounted for. Be productive daily and your year 2023 will be a successful year.
